When Mr. Chudgar first approached us, he had a clear vision—he wanted to convert his existing 3BHK flat into a 4BHK home without making it feel cramped. His priorities were functionality, modern aesthetics, and efficient space utilization. Our challenge was to craft a seamless transformation while maintaining a sophisticated and contemporary feel within the given constraints.
Design Approach
Our process began with an in-depth consultation to understand Mr. Chudgar’s lifestyle and preferences. His requirement for an additional bedroom meant that we had to rethink the existing layout strategically. Instead of compromising on space, we focused on optimizing underutilized areas. By carefully repositioning walls and incorporating smart storage solutions, we were able to integrate an additional bedroom without disturbing the fluidity of the space.
The living room was envisioned as a warm, inviting area with a modern touch. We introduced a minimalist TV unit with hidden storage and complemented it with a well-chosen colour palette of neutrals and rich accents. The furniture was selected to be multifunctional, ensuring both comfort and practicality. Large windows were utilized to maximize natural light, further enhancing the openness of the space. To add a nostalgic charm, we incorporated a vintage wooden swing, which became a statement piece, adding warmth and a sense of tradition to the contemporary setting.
For the kitchen, we adopted a modular design that balanced efficiency and aesthetics. High-quality yet budget-friendly materials, such as matte-finish laminates and quartz countertops, were used to create a sleek and durable workspace. Smart cabinetry solutions ensured optimal storage while maintaining a clutter-free environment. The lighting was carefully curated to enhance both function and ambiance.
